Joining forces on the Hardangerfjord:
The cruise ports of the Hardangerfjord are establishing a new marketing group, Cruise Destination Hardangerfjord. The region has traditionally been a main tourism destination for centuries, offering a wealth of natural and cultural attractions. New shore excursions are therefore being developed, paying special attention to so-called "geotourism". This means that the organizers will be including genuine and unique Hardanger experiences in the tours.
Vøringsfossen waterfall (photo) - an icon.
Vøringfossen is one of Norway's most popular natural attractions with more than 600,000 visitors a year. It is also a preferred destination for cruise ships' shore excursions when they call at Eidfjord or Ulvik by the Hardangerfjord.
In time for this summer another 6 modern restrooms will be built in Fossli Hotel at the top of the waterfall. A total of 11 restrooms will thus be available for the passengers. ww.hardangerfjord.com
